Mid-Autumn Gathering and 6th meeting of the 53rd Committee
Last night’s Mid-Autumn Gathering and Council Meeting was successfully held. We sincerely thank all members, council members and fellow clan members who took the time to attend and support the event, making the evening a warm and lively one.
Present to receive the guests were our Association Affairs Adviser 克安, President 承财, Second Vice-President 祥茂 Alex, Vice-Presidents 耀钦 and 绍杰, Hon. Secretary 羡光 Sylvester, Officer 玉华,振成, as well as other committee members.
Adviser 克安 first led the visitors on a tour of our heritage room, where he shared the history and development of the Association over the years. During the visit, both sides were pleasantly surprised to discover historical photographs documenting exchanges between the two associations nearly 60 years ago. These precious images offered a meaningful glimpse into the long-standing friendship and close ties shared by both organisations.
The guests were subsequently invited to the meeting room for tea and further chat. Secretary 羡光 gave a brief introduction to the Association’s current development and activities, followed by a cordial exchange of views on clan affairs and opportunities for future cooperation.
During the gathering, President 余旭华 formally invited our Association to attend the Penang association’s 65th Anniversary Celebration Dinner, which will be held in Penang on 11 October. He personally presented the official invitation to President 承财, who gladly accepted it and expressed that our Association would organise a delegation to visit Penang and attend the celebration, further strengthening the friendship between the two associations.
The warm hospitality had in fact begun a day earlier. At approximately 1.30 p.m. on 29 August, when the delegation arrived in Singapore, Adviser 克安 and Secretary 羡光 personally welcomed the guests at the airport. They later accompanied them to Lucky Seafood Restaurant for afternoon tea as a warm reception after their journey, before sending them to their hotel to rest.
The following morning, Adviser 克安 and Second Vice-President 祥茂 accompanied the three guests to the Kallang area to enjoy one of Singapore’s well-known local delicacies, bak kut teh, giving them a taste of Singapore’s local food culture before proceeding to our Association’s premises for the official visit.
The visit not only strengthened mutual understanding and exchanges between the two associations, but also brought renewed appreciation of a friendship that can be traced back nearly six decades. We look forward to maintaining close ties, promoting greater interaction and cooperation, and continuing this valuable bond of kinship and friendship for generations to come ……
